Wyoming is a state in the Western United States, with mountain ranges and rangelands in the Rocky Mountain West and High Plains in the east. It is the tenth largest U.S. state by size, but it is the least populous. The capital and most populous city is Cheyenne. Summers in Wyoming are warm, with cool nights. Winters are cold, with periods of sometimes extreme cold interspersed between generally mild periods, with Chinook winds providing unusually warm temperatures in some locations.Wyoming includes Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park, Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area and Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, Devils Tower National Monument and Fossil Butte National Monument, and several national historic trails and sites.
